Casa Lucio

la-latina
Categoría: mid-range

A La Latina institution since 1974, famous for huevos rotos — fried eggs broken over crisp potatoes, sometimes topped with jamón — a dish simple enough to sound unremarkable and good enough to have fed several Spanish kings and generations of regulars.

Reserve well ahead for dinner, especially on Cava Baja, the street it anchors — this remains one of the hardest tables in La Latina to get on short notice. The huevos rotos is the dish everyone orders, but the grilled meats and traditional Castilian dishes on the rest of the menu are just as solid. The dining rooms spread across several floors of a historic building, so ask for a specific room if atmosphere matters to you.
