Madrid by Night Walking Tour
malasanaTier: budget
A guided evening walk through the floodlit old town — Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, and the Cibeles and Alcalá landmarks lit up against the dark — ending in Malasaña or La Latina for a nightcap. Madrid's architecture genuinely changes character after dark.
Tours generally start around sunset and run two to two-and-a-half hours at an easy pace, covering more ground comfortably than the midday heat allows in summer. This is a good low-commitment way to get orientated on a first night in the city before venturing out solo later in the trip. Comfortable shoes matter more than they sound like they would — central Madrid's cobbled squares are less forgiving after dark.
