Description monumental

Started by Juan Gómez de Mora in 1644, was followed by Jose Villareal in 1648 and subsequently by Ardemans Teodoro it ends in 1696. Juan de Villanueva in 1789 concludes the Main Street facade building Doric colonnade.

The building is renovated in 1966, replacing the flat roof slate tile, removing the stucco walls and returning to its previous appearance of brick. On the facade overlooking the town square, where you access the building, there are two twin-gate (closest to the main street is that corresponded to the Town Hall and the second to the jail in the Villa) . Inside are the main staircase, with the same decoration in 1896, but restored, the Secretariat Office Gallery and the Portrait Saleta (Saleta Real), the Hall of Goya (also called Royal Hall, Summer or receptions), the Chapel, the Board of the Custody, the Lobby Lounge Session, the Assembly Room, the Patio de Cristales, La Salette of the Dove, the Hall of Public Grandstand and the Board of the cart.

The latest changes and interior restorations are performed by municipal architect Joaquín Roldán Pascual in 1986. The latest reform of the Plaza de la Villa, ancient Salvador, is made in 1980, highlighting the center the statue of Don Alvaro de Bazán.
